As the Founder & CPO of Lisa Westerfield Consulting, I provide business development and marketing services to architects, engineers, contractors, and developers so they can Build More and Hunt Less by helping them to Get Clear about their goals, Get Connected to new leads and connections, Get Trained in Doer BD, and ultimately to Get Work by filling their pipeline with targeted opportunities.

My journey to the A/E/C industry started in the labs at a large international chemical company where I analyzed all kinds of products. Not content to sit behind a gas chromatograph forever, I jumped at an opportunity to get into sales when I completed an MBA and my director pointed out that sales would enable me to learn the business from the ground up and I would get to solve client’s problems – well, I was sold. During that time, I learned about the design and construction industry from the perspective of everything that goes into buildings from adhesives, sealants, paint and then some. For a while I even ran a construction chemicals group that sold water repellents for concrete, brick, and masonry.

Along the way, I gravitated to the A/E/C industry working with nationally recognized development, design, construction, and real estate firms in a number of markets including healthcare, higher education, corporate, and mission critical markets. I have a particular soft spot for green, intelligent design and was a founding member and past Chair of the USGBC-NJ Chapter.
What these A/E/C firms have in common are clients that want their undivided attention and employees that need to be billable to keep the doors open. I work with clients to create their business development and marketing plans, break them down into actionable items, execute them, and train their employees to bring in business on their own. I measure success when my clients can truly Build More and Hunt Less.
